For those of you who may be confused, always buy a gauge one size up from your intended jewelry, so that if you plan on using a 16 gauge jewelry then buy the 14 gauge needles. While not totally necessary, this will allow you to put your jewelry inside the hollow needle and pull it into your fresh piercing.

TIP:

•Pierce with a needle 1 size larger than the gauge of your jewelry. Example: I pierced my belly with a 12g needle that way I could easily slide my 14g jewelry into the needle and easily slide it into my piercing.

•A little bit of sterile Vaseline on the tip of the needle will help the needle slide more easily through your skin. Less tugging.
